Easy guide for choosing a comfortable Tactical helmet

Tactical helmets are a major part of the personal protection system for anyone who wants to survive in a combat setting. Military officials, defense agents, as well as law enforcement are all making active use of tactical helmets for different purposes. However, over the last couple of years, the tactical helmet market has become flooded with various kinds of manufacturers bringing in different variants of helmets. While having various options is great, it can also present some challenges.

For starters, without proper knowledge of the kinds of tactical helmets available, it is almost impossible to make the right decision. There are two kinds of tactical helmets namely ballistic helmets and bump helmets.

Ballistic helmets are specifically designed with the sole purpose of stopping, deflecting, or resisting the penetration of bullet rounds. On the other hand, bump helmets are designed to protect the wearer’s head from every kind of non-ballistic threats. This means that wearing a bump helmet to a combat ground is like presenting your skull to the bullets.

A comfortable and efficient tactical helmet is one that can perform what you intend it to; at least to a considerable degree. Depending on the type of environment you would be working in, it is important that you are able to narrow down your helmet choice to suit your operation needs.

It is also important to consider the weight of your helmet before wearing it to the combat ground. You see, your helmet has to perfectly suit all your specific needs and having the right weight will help reflect this. While some helmets are known to be very weighty, there are others that are quite light weighted without sacrificing the ballistic rated efficiency.

However, there is a caveat. While light weighted helmets can offer similar ballistic protection, there are much likely to cause back-face deformation as well as blunt impact trauma due to the decrease in weight.
