MOLLE Tactical Vest

MOLLE is an acronym that stands for “modular lightweight load-carrying equipment.” The Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Environment (MOLLE) is a system that allows a user to attach pouches and modules to a tactical vest. When you use MOLLE, you have the freedom to customize your gear in any way that will help you achieve your goal. The MOLLE System employs a row of tough nylon fabric known as the “pouch attachment ladder system” (PALS). The PALS is usually on backpacks, tactical vests, and other things fitted with MOLLE.

The malleability of MOLLE webbing is mainly responsible for the system’s widespread adoption. It allows the wearer to organize their equipment on the chest rig of their tactical vest however they see fit. A Left-hand MOLLE wearer can also customize the positioning of their equipment to suit their needs.

Steps for fastening MOLLE gear to an appropriate webbed surface:

  • Determine a location, and then secure your gear in that location. Following the standard operating procedures, your gear should already be organized. However, if you have more leeway in deciding where to put your gear, you should experiment with several configurations of your MOLLE pouches on top of your backpack or tactical vest to determine which arrangement is the most effective.

  • If you have a SlickStick with a snap attached to one end, you may use that end to thread the stick through the nylon webbing such that the snap is on top of your MOLLE attachment.

  • To secure the attachment, thread the pole or strap through the first row of nylon webbing and then draw it tight.

  • Continue to work the stick through the webbing on your gear and the attachment until the very top of the stick reveals only the snaps or buttons.

  • If your attachment calls for using more than one SlickStick or strap, you must repeat the above process for each stick.

When it is in the desired location, you can secure the attachment on your tactical vest or any other gear by snapping it or buttoning it into place.
